 CJ's is leading the way in South East Kent with its highly successful Cheerleading Squad. Originally formed in January 2007 with 36 pupils, the studio has now had to expand its number of training sessions to four to cope with numbers exceeding 70!!! The Senior and Junior Squad, who train every Thursday and some Tuesdays, are going from strength to strength and their dedication has now been rewarded as Dover Town Council, have awarded a grant to pay for tracksuit tops to enable the group to look as professional as possible when, attending displays and competitions. Due to the great success two new classes were added to the timetable this autumn. A special beginners squad now trains every Monday. Any pupil hoping to make the Squad, is then selected from this class, after learning the basic safety techniques and stunts. This class meets every Monday from 5.15-6.30pm. Such was the enthusiasm and demand from parents within the school that, a "Tiny Cheer" started in October. This session caters for budding cheerleaders taking their first steps to a fantastic sport. Fitness, simple stunts and motions are learnt along with tumbling skills and of course pom poms with this age group. Any 4-6 yr olds interested should come along on Mondays at 4.30 for a free taster class. |
